And, talking ourselves out of the same things on a frequent basis only heightens this ability which is why some of us are so good at perpetuating bad actions. Just imagine all the bigger,more profound opportunities you’ve been spinning yourself away from…

Grab a blank sheet of paper. Now it’s your turn. Think of an idea or a goal you had recently but never accomplished.

“It was my goal to:_______________________________________”

Next, give some thought to all the excuses you had for not following through, and write them down.

“I never accomplished my goal because / because I was afraid of:
_________________________________________________________
__________________________________________________________

Please stop reading and do this now. Come on; answer honestly, regardless of how silly it sounds. Your participation here is solely for your benefit. Don’t let your fear of being honest about your fears stop you!

This exercise is a crucial part to putting The Amazing Millionaire Formula to work for you. So go ahead.

Now look at the list of excuses you wrote down. Chances are, you either agree with the fact that these excuses were what prevented you from accomplishing your goal, or you disagree completely.

If you agree with your excuses, think back to your pro evaluation list to reconnect with the reasons why the goal was such a good idea in the first place. Then come back to the list you just completed to determine if your excuses are still valid.

If you, however, realize now that these excuses really had no validity and had not contributed to your failure of achieving your goal, then you are likely seeing through the deceptiveness of your own mind.
And that’s great!

And so, for each excuse that you wrote down, read it out loud, and then respond to it with: “This is just a fear-based excuse and a lie.”

Go ahead. It may sound silly, but it’s actually a very practical exercise. Repeating your excuses out loud releases them into the Universe. This exercise will help you release your fears with a surprisingly beneficial outcome. Go ahead. Have fun with it!

When you’re done, crumple up that piece of paper and throw it out. And, make a commitment to stop lying to yourself by being conscious of when your mind starts feeding you fear-based excuses.

These excuses can only be one of a few: fear of failure, fear of rejection, or fear of humiliation – so they’re really easy to spot.

living Although all lies are criminal, lying to ourselves is the biggest crime of all. We are all spiritual beings and by lying, we tarnish our souls and prevent ourselves from discovering our true purpose in life.

In fact, lying to ourselves is what prevents us from overcoming our personal constraints and achieving greatness since real success can only be achieved in truth, and of course, in taking responsibility for our own lives.

Stop making excuses and lying to yourself and to others about who you think you are and the things you plan to do. Embrace humility in admitting that you’re not as perfect as you think you are. Don’t be afraid to reveal your true self and show your vulnerability. People are naturally attracted to others who are genuine, no matter how vulnerable they may appear. But this isn’t about placing labels on yourself. It’s about discovering the truth about yourself and being comfortable with your true character. It’s also about you following through with what you say you’re going to do. Only then can you begin to turn your dreams into reality.

For the next five days try not to tell a lie. Neither to yourself nor to anyone else. Be aware of every one of your interactions and you’ll be amazed to learn how many little lies you tell throughout the day. Also keep in mind that every time you don’t do something that you say you’re going to do, that’s a lie. Even if you promise to meet someone at 4:00 but don’t show up until 4:05, congratulations, you’re a liar.

Successful people keep their word. When they speak, people listen because they know what that person says is the truth and they almost always do what they say they’re going to do. Notice the people in your life that never follow through on anything. These are the same people that let you down time and time again. They are also the same people that are all talk but very little action.

Also notice what a mess their lives always seem to be and how they always blame others for their failures. They never seem to take responsibility and they are always quick with some sort of excuse. Little do they know that as long as they continue telling these lies they will never become successful – at anything.

click2 By focusing your efforts on giving other people what they want you can gain a tremendous amount of clicks and in turn get exactly what you want. And, this principle applies to your professional and your personal life as well.

Your goal is to become savvy in gaining big clicks in every aspect of your life because the pay off is your happiness, success and prosperity.

Clicks are one of the very first forms of communication which we start to learn as infants. All of us as infants came to learn that good actions lead to praise and reward. In fact, parents and infants are on completely different levels in their ability to communicate and so clicks can be used in everyday learning development exercises.
Body language, vocal tone and pitch play a major part in rearing young children.

Experts recommend using “strokes” and rewards when attempting to potty train a toddler. These strokes are the same as high praise, which is also a click! Initially this may take a while but once the child uses the potty successfully for the first time, a celebration of cheering and clapping follows and maybe even a tasty cookie. This method very quickly changes the child’s attitude towards using the potty. Before the click and the reward, the child sees no benefit to having to use the potty. To toddlers, the whole process can be confusing, or even frightening.

Clicks allow the child to associate the potty with something positive and therefore something they can stick with in order to earn more clicks.

By kindergarten, kids can’t wait to show off their artwork to their parents. It may be a crayon scribble or some macaroni glued to a piece of paper, but as parents we respond as though it was a masterpiece. And we do this because we understand the importance of encouragement and positive clicks in the development of our children.

As adults we tend to lose the high praise when communicating with our peers or significant others. Our levels of acceptability change and we forget that we as adults need just as much encouragement as our young selves.

customerservice Some new businesses see immediate success by offering the public better relationship value over that of their competitors. They do this by offering an untapped priority or by taking an existing priority like price and doing it better.

Sam Walton once asked the question: “What if we can offer the public the same grocery, hardware, appliance and clothing products all in one convenient location at lower prices. Would they buy from us instead?” The public answered by showing up in droves. Simply by merging value and convenience, Wal-Mart has grown to be the largest retail chain in North America by scoring higher on most consumers’ priority lists. You might notice that some companies focus their advertising efforts on changing our priority levels. And it works! Take Michelin tires for example. Michelin started putting images of babies with their tires in their advertisements, highlighting the fact that their tires are safer. You love your babies don’t you? You want them to be safe don’t you? Before this campaign, the general public simply didn’t have much of an opinion about their choice of tire and their buying decision was based on price. But now, you associate Michelin with your own family’s safety and price is conveniently removed from the equation.

This isn’t necessarily a better mousetrap, just a better way for a company to stand out from their competitors and create consumer preference. We are seeing a huge emergence of the environmental movement and advertisers are shift ing not only our buying perspectives but our social ones, too.

Ironically, people are generally willing to spend more on common household items that are green because as a consumer buying these products, we are doing our part in being environmentally responsible. It is amazing how the price point isn’t even part of this equation, and the value is inherent in making a difference while becoming a more concerned and better informed consumer.

Let’s say there are two equally qualified young men that are interviewing for the same office job. As each one is interviewed, the interviewer is keeping a score of clicks based on what each one says and how each one looks, just as we learned in the relationship evaluation process.

The first evaluation is based on Appearance: Hair looks unwashed: negative click. Wearing a suit, but with a smudge on it, negative click. Sneakers instead of dress shoes: negative click.
“So, tell me about yourself, Mr. Smudge.” We’ll refer to the first guy as Mr. Smudge since all the interviewer can seem to focus on is the smudge on his suit; to which Mr. Smudge replies: “Well, I don’t know um… Where should I start?… um ah… What do ya’ wanna’ know?” Th e interviewer awards this response with a negative click, negative click, negative click.
Now on to the second young man. But let’s say instead of stumbling over his thoughts and words he is focused on earning clicks. So he shows up with clean, nicely combed hair, a freshly pressed suit and shiny clean dress shoes: three clicks. Then when the interviewer asks: “So tell me about yourself, Mr. Right.” Mr. Right says: “Well I would just like to start off by saying how excited I am about being here and I would like to thank you for this opportunity and the chance to work for such a good company. I feel that my enthusiasm and previous work experience has made me a perfect match for this position.”

Wow! Talk about a powerful beginning full of clicks. Let’s break his response down and highlight all the clicks:
Well I would just like to start off by saying how excited I am…
– That’s a click. And, depending on the interviewer, it may even be
worth several clicks.
I would like to thank you for this opportunity…
– A sign of gratitude is always a click.
…and the chance to work for such a good company.
– A compliment is always a click, so long as it’s sincere.
I feel that my enthusiasm and previous work experience…
– What employer isn’t looking for an experienced, enthusiastic
employee? That’s worth two clicks.
…has made me a perfect match for this position.
– This is not only exactly what the interviewer is looking for but it also shows great confidence. That’s also worth two clicks. Now let’s tally up the beginning of each interview. The first applicant, Mr. Smudge, weighs in at negative five clicks. The second applicant, Mr. Right, is already up 10 clicks and he’s just getting started.

In his attempts to invent the incandescent light bulb, Thomas Edison dealt with failure after failure, after failure; yet his motivation never seemed to waver. He didn’t look at each failed attempt as an actual failure; but rather, as a new way not to do something. And it’s this perspective that led him to his ultimate success.

So what motivated him? Perhaps the answer lies within the records that he so diligently kept. Every day, Edison would document everything he did for each attempted, and failed experiment. Over time, he had accumulated a journal of discoveries, similar to your clicks journal, that helped him recognize that he had a day of discoveries to look forward to until he got it right.

But at what point do we just say this isn’t working and give up? Typically, most of us get to this point when our excitement level or motivation is gone. And this happens because we haven’t devised a concise action plan to keep us moving; nor have we accepted the fact that success and failure go hand in hand.

Remember, you cannot succeed in becoming a millionaire without a plan that is workable and practical. And so, if your plan has failed you, it means that your plan is missing a few key ingredients that are necessary to your success. So don’t quit – this is just a temporary setback, perhaps even a blessing in disguise.

Simply devise a new plan and forge ahead! No follower of this principle can reasonably expect to make it big without first falling flat on their face a few times. And, giving up on your goal only makes you a quitter… so how can you ever expect to succeed?!

Millionaires don’t let little failures keep them from reaching their goals – and neither should you. We are often disillusioned by the millionaire success story since the focus tends to be on the victory, and not the journey. The many hardships and failures that come with success are easily overshadowed by the sheer magnitude of it all – a story that caters to our own fantasies which, as I mentioned before, are merely dreams without a plan.

But, the instant you acknowledge that success is nothing more than a series of failures, you’ll be well on your way to planning for your very own millionaire success story.
