How to Market Yourself in Social Networks
The trend of social networks is fast becoming the focus of marketing for a lot of people. There are those we call internet celebrities or people that are simply famous on the internet even though they are not real life celebrities at all. This is because these people know how to market themselves. The key on how to market yourself in social networks is not by gaining a lot of friends or followers but by being true to yourself. If you are true to yourself, other people would want to continually open your blogs and your other social network accounts.
If you have the proper knowledge on how to market yourself, then you could just sit down and wait for your followers to increase. The most prevalent social network sites are the likes of Facebook, Tumblr, Multiply, MySpace, Blogspot and Titter. Most of the people that have an account here are teenagers, but if you are a person that has a business at home that you want to be publicized then you should know how to market yourself in these social networks.
Get to know other people that have the same line of business as yours. Be willing to swap ideas and experiences that both of you could learn from. How to market yourself tips are usually from word of mouth, so try and absorb what other people think of your site or your blog.
When some of your friends are already successful in their online businesses and they already have a lot of followers on their site, don’t be jealous or angry. Instead focus again on how to market yourself and do not go against the flow. You could at least celebrate with them while they are basking in the light of their success.
In social networks, you should set up your own identity and influence. Try to fit the theme of your site to what your site is talking about. For example if your blog is about nature, then try to look for or better yet customize your own theme that depicts nature. Doing this may help your readers understand the purpose of your site or blog and would make them visit it more often.
Try to find conversations that you could join. Just don’t be too talkative because some people may find you a nuisance. If you want to get recognized, start a topic of your own or post good and sensible comments to blogs of people that you are following.
Do not be a wallflower. You could build a community of followers if you think out of the box and you don’t compare yourself to others. Remember that you are selling yourself and your personality. Don’t try to over impress people, you could be liked or you could be hated but assure everybody that you are your own self.

This is probably one of the biggest changes that Google has made in the past few years pertaining to their mysterious algorithm for ranking websites.
What do these 2011 algorithm changes mean to you?
Well if you’ve been marketing yourself online for the past year or so it could mean that all those painstakingly long hours you spent writing and posting articles on sites like ehow or ezinearticles have just been a waste of time.
…But don’t start crying just yet!
The reason being, where Google used to highly value these sites and the content on them, a lot of people have noticed a significant drop in rankings just in the past few days. These types of Web2.0 sites were once a goldmine of traffic and leads for Bloggers, online sellers and attention getters.
Now it seems like Google is re-directing their favoritism to serious content creators.
What you’ve heard:
Google has declared war on low quality “Content Farms” like Demand Media.
Explained: “Content farms” are sites that systematically steal or produce keyword specific content in order to rank higher, get more visitors and improve their bottom line when it comes to having people clicking on all the Google display ads they have on their sites.
But hey wouldn’t Google be okay with that? After all they’re the ones collecting all that ad revenue.
You would think so RIGHT? However, Cost Per Click and Adwords has taken a major hit in the past couple of years for its advertisers. And it could have something to do with all these “low quality” type sites they are referring to. Low quality sites equals low quality prospects for the advertisers which means more expense and less buyers for all those poor suckers who watched their keywords get bid up to outrageous amounts and their sales plummeting in recent years.
Google has reported that this change to their algorithm and how they rank websites on Google.com in the states is expected to affect about 12% of the websites out there.
Just in case your heart is palpitating right now…STAY CALM!
This is a really a good thing. Here is why…
1. It’s survival of the fittest. The weak and half hearted will drown on page 3 and beyond.
2. It will run the spammers off of the social net sites we love so much like Twitter and Facebook. (I made $726 in 2 days click here to find out how I did it!…argh)
3. It’s an opportunity to clean up the internet and have site developers and bloggers starting to focus on real value driven sites with original content rather than re-hashed “I’m just trying to get traffic” content.
4. It will allow us to concentrate more on building a loyal readership for our WordPress sites and thus creating a solid brand through our own blogs and websites.
Because at the end of the day that’s what this is all about, QUALITY. Not quantity. As a spokesperson and trainer for self-promotion, when it comes to you marketing or branding yourself you need to focus on giving tremendous value to a few clients rather than little or no value to a ton of clients.
This is also about longevity and sustaining the dips in our roads to success. Look at this as the wonderful opportunity that it is.
How to get ranked #1 on Google now!
1. Start building a big beautiful blog with only your best of the best original content including original articles, videos and pictures. Post daily content if you can. Weekly at the very least.
2. Never re-post or copy an Article for link-building purposes. Only ever use original Content. Do I even have to say this?
3. Re-direct your efforts from just spraying your web address everywhere like graffiti tags to creating real relationships with other bloggers with high PR ranking blogs related to your keywords (2 or higher) by reaching out to them via phone, email, flowers and posting real comments on their postings then making it okay with them if you want to submit a link to re-direct them back to your site. (this takes more time and genuine ass kissing but it’s worth it’s weight in gold from a back-link value standpoint)
…and if the Flowers don’t work, like I say in my book think more about what you can do for them rather then what they can do for you.
Happy Link-building!

“Discover what you need to do before you begin marketing yourself.”
For me marketing myself took my consulting and coaching business from zero to me having hundreds of Consulting Clients in five years.
So exactly how do you do this “marketing yourself” thing?
It’s real simple…marketing yourself is all about creating your brand. Now I don’t mean go out and hire a stylist and a photographer. I mean define what your central message is and start getting the message out into the world.
Let me give you an example using myself so you can learn how to define your central message. I discovered after having an epiphany that I was a person of tremendous value and that all my success was due to that fact. Since I was able to define this as my mission statement I now live my life by it and promote others to do the same. I even included two whole chapters about being a person of great value and the law of value in my book. Everyone who knows me or has ever worked with me knows that I not only deliver more than expected but that I encourage everyone else to do the same.
The point being before you can begin marketing yourself you need to define what your central message is. Are you a person of great value? Perhaps your more about cutting through the bull and deal with everyone with a no-nonsense approach? Or maybe your just all about creating excitement. Whatever it is before you can begin marketing yourself properly and honestly you need to create your brand by defining your central message.
Let’s skip ahead and say you’ve had some time to think about it, asked your closest friends and associates and now you have finally defined your central message, now to get on with the self-promotion.
So exactly where should you start?
Well how about starting with your friends and family? Marketing yourself effectively is all about being exactly who you claim to be. Successful marketing is all about delivering what you say your going to deliver. If a movie is marketed as being hilarious and funny but falls short in the laughs department then what will happen? Big box office flop right? Why? Because they didn’t deliver on their claims. So be sure to live your life by your new central message like it was a code. Everyday eat, breath and sleep your central message. Once you have mastered that now you can begin to create a highly successful marketing campaign.
What I have put together for you is a list of the top 3 most effective ways that you can begin marketing yourself this week. They only require about 30 minutes a day using both online and offline marketing strategies. These are the same methods that I teach to my clients because I know they work! In order for you to get a free copy of the top 3 methods for marketing yourself just enter your first name and email address in the form below. Each of the 3 proven methods will be emailed to you each day along with some surprisingly valuable bonus chapters.
